The Hollywood icon—famous for his roles in Pretty Woman and An Officer and a Gentleman—was seen barefoot, wearing only dark blue swim trunks as he strolled along the sand. His silver hair blowing in the breeze and his relaxed expression seemed to say, “I’m just here to unwind.” In other shots, Gere slips on a gray T-shirt and sunglasses, preparing for what appears to be another leisurely coastal walk.
Gere isn’t just vacationing—he’s also supporting environmental efforts. His wife, Alejandra Silva, shared on social media that the couple visited two key ecological sites: the Chamela Bay and Chalacatepec Lagoon. “I came to Mexico to personally thank those who protect and restore our ecosystems every day,” Silva wrote, noting their work with local activists and fishermen. Their team has helped establish a marine refuge in Chamela and is aiding restoration efforts in Chalacatepec.
After two previous marriages—first to supermodel Cindy Crawford (1991–1995) and then to actress Carey Lowell (married in 2002, divorced in 2016)—Gere found lasting happiness with Alejandra Silva, a Spanish publicist 34 years his junior. The couple wed in 2018 and now raise three sons together, aged 12, 6, and 4. Gere also has an adult son, Homer, from his marriage to Lowell.
A few months ago, the family left the U.S. and relocated to Alejandra’s native Spain. It was in Madrid that Gere recently celebrated Father’s Day for the first time in true Spanish style.
