Jennifer Garner has some pointed advice for anyone out there thinking about marrying a man they believe they can change.
Earlier this month, the 13 Going on 30 star appeared on the Lipstick on the Rim podcast where she shared some of her favorite quotes — which she says “all came from” her momma Patricia Garner. There were some classic ones which have been around for ages, like “Weeping may last through the night but joy comes in the morning,” and, “Happiness is your own responsibility.” But there was another which we just can’t help but feel was a subtle and playful dig at her ex-husband! The 52-year-old said:
“Never expect a man — don’t marry a man thinking you can change him.”
Jennifer didn’t name any names, but she went through a LOT in her marriage to Ben Affleck, who has infamously struggled with alcoholism and gambling throughout their union. But while they may not have worked out as husband and wife, they two continue to remain close as friends… Which the Family Switch star may have playfully addressed in the podcast episode. After revealing her quote about marriage, she added:
“I’m going to really work on that one.”
