Kevin Costner Felt ‘Sucker-Punched’ The Way He Learned Ex Christine Baumgartner Was Engaged To His Friend

So just after one of the most contentious celeb divorces we’ve ever seen, we learned this week Christine Baumgartner is getting married again. But how does her ex, Yellowstone star Kevin Costner, feel about that?

Well, it comes down to two factors — who she’s engaged to… and how he found out.

First thing’s first. The guy Christine is marrying, this Josh Connor? He was their neighbor before they split — and he was someone Kevin considered a friend. So yeah, that hurts pretty bad from what we’ve heard. Per People, Josh proposed at an intimate dinner on Monday night. And a friend of Kev’s told DailyMail.com on Friday that he found out when this kids told him about it this week. Oof, didn’t even hear it from her. How did that feel? The insider said:

“Kevin said he felt sucker-punched when his kids told him about the marriage proposal. He said he would have preferred to have heard it straight from Christine, but either way, it still feels like betrayal even after all this time.”

OUCH! Costner’s friend did say the timing could have been worse actually — the Dances With Wolves star’s 70th birthday was on January 18:

“He just celebrated his birthday, thank God they waited at least a week to make the announcement.”

That “Even after all this time” has us reeling. Man, he’s still hurting over this breakup! Everyone has spent so much breath talking about him moving on, with this celebrity or that… but damn, maybe he isn’t at all??

The way the source tells it, it sounds like he’s not focused on dating at all!

“As far as dating, Kevin said it’s just not a priority right now. He said he’s not opposed to it and if it happens it happens.”

He’s just all about parenting, his career, and his doggo!

“Kevin will do what he always does and that’s focus on his kids and his work. He’s premiering Horizon 2 at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, his docuseries is coming out soon and he’s got his music and of course his best friend Bobby. Thank god for that dog, he’s been there with Kevin through it all, bringing him and the kids so much joy.”

Aw! That’s nice. Glad he’s got a good boy to keep him company! Especially since he’s not having the best time right now.
