Prince William recalled the strange gift he once gave Kate Middleton early in their relationship. William said Kate still never lets him forget it, and he himself wonders how he even thought to choose it as a present.
Gift-giving in the royal family is a big event and a special ritual. Recently, Lux shared how Queen Camilla was spotted in a department store choosing a gift for Charles. Although she did it almost at the last minute, the gift turned out to be useful and practical. On the other hand, Prince William recently remembered giving Kate a “terrible” gift that she would never forget.
“One time I gave my wife binoculars – she never let me forget it. It was early on in our dating, and I think it was a turning point. It didn’t go very well. Honestly, I have no idea why I bought her binoculars. At the time, it seemed like a good idea,” the prince confessed.
By the way, members of the royal family tend to avoid giving each other expensive or flashy gifts at Christmas. Instead, they exchange lighthearted, humorous presents. There’s also a tradition of sharing sweets the day before Christmas, rather than on the holiday itself. Oh, perhaps William should have given Kate some treats instead of binoculars!
