Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt still cannot finalize their divorce, which has been dragging on since 2016. The former couple continues to fight over their marital assets and is paying astronomical amounts to their lawyers.
“Angie has spent a fortune, and her expenses are far exceeding her income,” said an insider close to the star. Friends of the 49-year-old actress are convinced that her “endless vendetta” against her ex-husband, 60-year-old actor Brad Pitt, is the main reason behind her financial crisis. According to the source, they are begging her to stop her unrelenting legal battles with him to avoid “ending up in the poorhouse.”
Jolie even filed a lawsuit against the FBI related to Pitt, as she could not afford to pay for her lawyer’s fees. She had been trying to obtain documents about an investigation being conducted by the FBI and the Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services over allegations that Brad had abused her and their children aboard a private jet in 2016. Investigators cleared Pitt of the accusations, which not only left Jolie with an unfavorable public image but also drained her finances, making it impossible for her to cover the legal expenses.
“Every time she speaks with her lawyer, the bill goes up. All of these legal troubles are costing her thousands and thousands of dollars. She realizes she simply can’t afford to fight every battle with Brad,” the source added.
The situation has become so tense that Jolie is now selling her beloved 1958 Ferrari 250 GT for $1.3 million, along with other precious belongings: “She’s going through her closet, throwing together designer dresses, shoes, and accessories, hoping to get a good price for them. She may also sell the jewelry that Brad gave her during their marriage.”
