After his public breakup with Jennifer Lopez, 52-year-old actor Ben Affleck decided to turn a new page in his life. The director of “Argo” is open to romantic relationships but has one important condition: his future partner must share his commitment to a sober lifestyle and support his healing journey.
According to insiders, despite the challenging period following the split, Ben is open to dating and socializing. A source close to the actor noted that while Affleck is not ready for a serious relationship just yet, he is looking to start connecting with women again. “Ben isn’t rushing into a serious relationship until his divorce from Lopez is finalized, but that doesn’t mean he can’t start dating,” the insider explained.
Ben is looking for a partner who shares his commitment to a healthy lifestyle and respects his principles. “After all the challenges of recent years, Ben has firmly decided that recovery is his priority, and he won’t let anything or anyone jeopardize his sobriety.”
Affleck has long been open about his struggles with addiction and how his battle with alcoholism has impacted his career, family life, and relationships. He first sought help in 2001, four years after he decided to quit drinking.
In a 1998 interview, he admitted that drinking had become a source of regret and shame for him. “I started to realize that I felt uncomfortable recalling my actions and how I behaved when I was drunk.” He later underwent rehabilitation in 2017 and 2018, following an intervention by his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, who, along with their children, supported him on this difficult path.
