Jay Leno used Taylor Swift to get him out of a sticky situation!
In a sneak peek of TMZ‘s Merry Elfin’ Christmas special released last Wednesday, the comedian recalled a “road rage” incident that the pop star helped him get out of. The 74-year-old explained:
“I’ll tell you a road rage story involving Taylor Swift. I’m in traffic, a guy behind me, beep beep beep. I’m driving one of my old cars so I [indicate to] go around me.”
The driver wasn’t happy with him and gave him the finger — which only irritated Jay.
The late-night host went OFF on the other guy, recalling:
“I pulled to the light, and I looked at the guy, and I go, ‘What was that all about?’ He starts swearing and that’s what I laid into him. I said, ‘Let me guess. What are you 52, divorce[d], your kids hate you, you’re bald? What was your greatest day? In high school?’”
Well… it turns out all that was true! Awkward!!! The former The Tonight Show host continued:
“The guy starts crying [and says] ‘You’re right, man.’ I go ‘Wait, wait, wait’ so I get out of my car [and] I get into his car. I said, ‘Look, I got Taylor Swift on the show next Wednesday. Do your daughters like Taylor Swift?’ [He said], ‘Oh, they love Taylor Swift.’”
Jay then did the coolest thing, saying:
“I said, ‘I tell you what, I’ll give you two tickets to the show and you come back and meet [her].”
What?! Guess good things can happen if you flip off the right person. LOLz! Jay wasn’t bluffing either. The driver’s “ecstatic” daughters got to go backstage and meet the Anti-Hero artist, who was super nice to them. The host dished:
“I told Taylor the situation. She gave him swag [and] talked to the girls. I mean [she] was the nicest person.”
Aw! The musician’s generosity helped heal a family rift as the stand-up star joked that the driver’s kids now “liked him again.”
