“Ben Affleck Joins Volunteer Efforts at Homeless Shelter After His $20 Million Brentwood Mansion Survives Devastating LA Wildfires”

The 52-year-old Hollywood actor has focused on charity work following the destructive wildfires in Los Angeles and its surrounding areas. His $20 million mansion in Brentwood, which he bought after his split from Jennifer Lopez, miraculously survived the flames. This fortunate escape has fueled his compassion for those who weren’t as lucky.

Affleck joined a group of volunteers at a homeless camp, inspecting the area with a woman carrying a folder of documents. The two-time Oscar winner kept a casual, light-toned outfit, wearing a striped blue shirt, gray sweater, beige windbreaker, and white Nike sneakers. Ben appeared deeply focused, emotionally gesturing as he discussed priorities with fellow volunteers.

The fires destroyed Pacific Palisades and Altadena and forced evacuations across surrounding neighborhoods. Affleck was among those who had to leave their homes as the fire got dangerously close, seeking refuge in the home of his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, in Brentwood Park, which also survived the blaze that destroyed 6,800 buildings.

Despite their 2018 divorce after a decade of marriage, Ben and Jennifer remain close friends and co-parents to their three children: 19-year-old Violet, 16-year-old Seraphina, and 12-year-old Samuel.

Since the fire broke out on January 7, Jennifer has been actively volunteering with the nonprofit World Central Kitchen, delivering food to those in need. The actress revealed that the church her family attended was burned to the ground, and among the 29 victims of the fire was her close friend.

Many other celebrities also lost their homes to the fires, including Mel Gibson, Paris Hilton, Jeff Bridges, Anna Faris, Cary Elwes, Diane Warren, Anthony Hopkins, Matt Damon, Adam Brody, and others. The latest census shows that over 75,000 homeless people are living on the streets of Los Angeles County. Although homelessness had decreased in recent years, the progress is now at risk of being undone due to the fires that left thousands without shelter.
