In Hollywood, rumors are swirling that Tom Cruise, who’s reportedly not as wealthy as many believe, has named his potential successor for the *Mission: Impossible* franchise (or *Mission: Impossible*). It’s said that Glen Powell, star of *Twisters* and *Anybody But You*, could be the new perfect Ethan Hunt. But can this actor live up to the iconic role?
Glen Powell himself put an end to the rumors, denying he’s ready to replace Tom Cruise in *Mission: Impossible*. The *Twisters* star joked that such a role would be a “deadly trap.”
“My mom would never let me do that,” Glen said.
But while he laughed off the idea, there’s no smoke without fire. After all, Tom and Glen have a friendly relationship. The two actors worked together on *Top Gun: Maverick*, and Cruise even attended the premiere of *Twisters*, posing for photos with Powell.
“A fun night with friends, watching movies!” Cruise captioned a photo.
So, it’s not entirely out of the question that Tom might convince Glen to take over the role.

Despite the film’s title, it has yet to be confirmed whether Tom Cruise will don Ethan Hunt’s suit one last time.
