When it comes to Cameron Diaz, Benji Madden has a lot to celebrate.
The Good Charlotte musician, 45, took to Instagram to praise his wife in a rare photo post of the couple, celebrating both their 10-year wedding anniversary and Diaz’s recent return to movies.
“This is my QUEEN ❤️” Benji wrote Friday, Jan. 17. “I celebrate this BAD ASS WOMAN. Wife, Mommy, friend, partner, Boss, and lover. We just hit 10 YEARS married on January 5th and every year only gets more fulfilling.”
“It’s special,” he added of his partnership with Diaz, 52. “Never perfect – always real – always reliable. Every day getting to have my best friend with me ride or die … what a beautiful life – I am GRATEFUL!!! 🙏”
The musician — who shares daughter Raddix, 5, and her younger brother, Cardinal, with Diaz — also praised the actress’s new film Back in Action, her first since 2014’s Annie.
“ANOTHER MiLESTONE happening TOMORROW!!!” Benji added. “We are SO happy to see you … BACK IN ACTION!! … Congrats baby!!❤️❤️❤️🎉🎉🎉 @camerondiaz ❤️ GO watch it on @netflix 😛😛🤘🤘🤘🎉”
Alongside the selfie of himself and Diaz, Benji also posted a photo of his wife looking glam in a silver dress with a bold red lipstick and a sweet selfie of the couple for a second photo.
Among the comments included one from Benji’s twin brother and Good Charlotte bandmate Joel Madden, who dropped three red heart emojis, while fellow rocker Avril Lavigne wrote, “Queen 👑.”
Diaz’s new film features the Charlie’s Angels star opposite Jamie Foxx as former CIA agents who are brought back into the game after their secret identities are exposed.
And during an October 204 conversation at Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit, Diaz shed some light on one of the main reasons she was returning to film: her husband’s support.
“He’s just the best,” the actress said of Benji, per E! News, continuing of her hiatus, “We were in the house for a long time, which was amazing.”
Benji, Diaz said, “was like, ‘You’ve been supporting us and building the family.’ And supporting him in his businesses. He’s like, ‘It’s time for us to support you and let Mommy ascend and do her thing.’ “
Taking a step back from her screen career “felt like the right thing for me to reclaim my own life, and I just really didn’t care about anything else,” said Diaz: “Nobody’s opinion, nobody’s success, no one’s offer, no one’s anything could change my mind about my decision of taking care of myself and building the life that I really wanted to have.”
She added, “It really comes to what are you passionate about? For me it was to build my family.”
