What is Ben Affleck grateful for this Thanksgiving? Getting to spend the holiday with one of his exes! And we are not talking about Jennifer Lopez!
On Thursday, the 52-year-old actor stepped out with ex-wife Jennifer Garner to volunteer with the Midnight Mission in downtown Los Angeles to help feed 2,000 homeless people — and they looked pretty cozy together! In pictures of them at the event, Ben was seen smiling with the 13 Going On 30 star and even whispering in her ear at one point.
Following the philanthropic event, Ben was photographed walking to Garner’s home in Brentwood, California, for Thanksgiving dinner. Check out the photos (below):
Those wishing this is a sign Ben and Jen are getting back together — not Lopez but Garner — do not hold your breath! The pair are most likely just amicable exes. They share three kids, Violet, Fin, and Samuel, who joined them in giving back to the community with Midnight Mission, and have been on good terms for a while. It’s not out of the ordinary to see them out and about together, even during the holidays! Granted, this is not the first time super intimate pics of Affleck and Garner have raised a few eyebrows!
You may remember that during his relationship with J.Lo, they were seen out together A LOT at one point — so much so that fans started to question if something more was going on. When you coupled that with rumors of a “heated” fight between Ben and Lopez at the time, the rumors took off! Garner shut it down when she stepped out with her boyfriend, John Miller. But could there have been something more here all along, given their cozy holiday outing this year? Again, don’t get your hopes up!
On Friday, an insider told Page Six that Ben felt “blessed” to spend Thanksgiving with Garner and their children and like he “can just be himself” around her! Whoa! Did he not feel that way while with J.Lo? According to the source, the family “enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner together,” and this is “not the first time” they have spent the holiday together since their divorce. At the end of the day, they are “close” — only because of the kids in order to keep a “friendly co-parenting relationship.” And it sounds like it’s nothing more than that between them! The source explained:
“Even though Ben and Jen have been split for a while now, he feels a certain level of comfort with her. Ben has a strong relationship with Jen that will never dissipate because they have a lot of history together and she’s the mother of his kids. They’ll always be close because they share children together and maintain a friendly co-parenting relationship.”
Good for them that they are in such a great place years after their divorce where they can enjoy the holidays together! As for J.Lo’s Thanksgiving plans? It probably looked different from last year — because there’s no Ben! The singer posted a solo picture of herself with a turkey on Instagram, writing:
“I hope everybody had a beautiful and Happy Thanksgiving. I am so incredibly grateful for all of you.”
