This was no coincidence, as the actresses are working together on the film Romantic Comedy.
Lopez shared behind-the-scenes footage with the cast members, where Meryl Streep was also spotted. The 75-year-old actress wore a white blouse and a black suit. The three-time Oscar winner was accompanied by 74-year-old actor Martin Short, with whom she has been rumored to be romantically involved. The two stars became close during the filming of the series Only Murders in the Building at the beginning of last year, where they play the couple Loretta Derkin and Oliver Putnam. Their close friendship was no secret to the production team, and since then, Meryl and Martin have often been seen together.
Streep and Short also appeared together on Saturday Night Live, arriving in the same car. In August of last year, they even held hands at an event dedicated to the popular Hulu series This Could Be More Than Just a Fling. “There’s definitely something between them,” said insiders.
Short briefly commented on the rumors about a romance with his Only Murders in the Building co-star, stating, “I think it’s a friendship that gets stronger when you work with someone and love that person,” the actor said last summer.
