Travis Kelce has a sweet secret to his success.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end was quick to answer when asked if Mama Kelce will be making her “famous” cookies for this year’s Super Bowl. “Oh, you know it, you know it,” the 35-year-old told PEOPLE and other outlets during a media day on Thursday, Feb. 6. “Never played a Super Bowl without them.”

Donna Kelce famously brought homemade cookies to her sons, former Philadelphia Eagles player Jason and Travis, ahead of the Super Bowl faceoff in 2023. A photo caught Donna handing each of her boys a Tupperware container full of cookies to the then-competing players. The tradition continues for this year’s Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans when the Chiefs and Eagles compete for the title again. But, given Jason’s retirement last year, Donna will only need one container of treats.
Since then, Donna has shared the recipe for the iconic cookies, which combine milk and white chocolate chips, brown and white sugar, sweet cream butter, cinnamon, optional pecans, and a few other ingredients.
The treats are “an absolute favorite for me and everyone in the family,” she told PEOPLE in December 2023. Donna also shared her recipe with PEOPLE at the end of 2023.
Super Bowl LVII brought another iconic moment from Donna: her split jersey look. She rooted for both sons’ teams with a part-green part-red outfit in February 2023, but Travis says he expects her to be all-in on Chiefs colors this year.

“I mean I would hope she didn’t have the split jersey this time,” Travis, who has won three Super Bowl games ahead of this weekend’s showdown, joked in the press conference. “I think everybody outside of Jason and Kylie gonna be wearing red.”

Leading up to the Big Game, Travis has been dishing on his pre-game playlists, his nieces and girlfriend Taylor Swift’s game-day outfits.
When asked by a reporter if he and the pop star ever thought about planning their outfits together, he admitted that they don’t “necessarily coordinate.” However, on Swift’s game-day looks, he said, “Tay’s always gonna be dressed head-to-toe looking the flyest.”
