The wildfires in California have left over 12,000 families homeless, with many having to flee their homes in such haste that they only managed to grab important documents. Emergency centers have been set up to collect clothing, shoes, hygiene products, and other essentials for the victims.
Jennifer Lopez made a contribution by sorting through her vast wardrobe accumulated over years in Hollywood and sending a truckload of humanitarian aid.
“It’s a huge amount of clothing, worth a fortune. There’s a lot of comfortable clothes, like hoodies and jeans—everyday items to help people get back on their feet. There are tennis shoes, sweaters, and jackets perfect for the winter. Jennifer has been collecting clothes for 30 years, so she had plenty to choose from,” shared an insider.
In addition, the 55-year-old singer and actress sent various accessories and boxes of her JLO skincare products, including cleansing and moisturizing items. The clothing was intended for students, teachers, and families within the Los Angeles School District and Pasadena schools. The donation was made through The A-List organization, which organized a grassroots fundraising campaign to support those who have lost everything.
The star of Maid in Manhattan also supported the “Boys and Girls Club,” which provides safe spaces and support for children and their families during natural disasters. J.Lo herself attended the club during her childhood in the Bronx.
“I can’t even imagine how traumatic these events must be, especially for children who’ve lost their homes and sense of safety. At times like this, the Boys and Girls Clubs in Los Angeles are ready to provide support, resources, and a safe space for children and families in need. It’s a place where I often found comfort and refuge as a child. It’s a place where kids can feel safe, cared for, and regain strength even during the toughest times,” she said.
While Leonardo DiCaprio didn’t share his wardrobe, the 50-year-old actor made a generous donation. He transferred $1 million (103 million rubles) to support firefighters battling the ongoing wildfires, as well as the victims affected by them.
“The wildfires in Los Angeles are devastating our city. I’m donating $1 million as part of a rapid response partnership program to support both immediate needs and recovery efforts,” said the Oscar-winning actor.
It was later revealed that DiCaprio had left the burning city of Los Angeles. The actor and his 26-year-old Italian model girlfriend, Vittoria Ceretti, flew to Mexico on a private jet.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z, who were involved in a high-profile sex scandal with P. Diddy, donated $2.5 million to help those affected by the fire in Etna. Jamie Lee Curtis and Eva Longoria each donated $1 million to charitable funds.
