The five-time Grammy Award winner is spending her Christmas holidays in Aspen, Colorado. Mariah Carey was spotted with Anderson .Paak, a member of the duo NxWorries, at Catch Steak restaurant in the popular ski resort.
The musicians were seen holding hands as they walked to the venue, with Anderson tenderly wrapping his arm around Mariah’s waist and, like a true gentleman, holding the door open for her. Following their outing, rumors about a romance between Carey and .Paak began circulating. However, those close to the “Touch My Body” hitmaker are hesitant to comment on her relationship status. Representatives for the star have clarified that, for now, Mariah and the 17-years-younger singer share a friendly relationship.
The artists are currently working together on a new musical project, and insiders say they have been spending time in the recording studio in Aspen recently. Last week, they were also spotted at one of the resort’s restaurants during a lunch break.
Mariah and Anderson have known each other for quite some time. In the summer, Anderson shared a video with Mariah taken at the legendary Electric Lady Studios in New York. “Oh my God, Mariah Carey. Listen, have you ever been so starstruck that it felt like a punch to the heart? That’s what this was. But I couldn’t just stand there. We had to get into the studio and make something happen,” said the four-time Grammy winner.
The pair also celebrated Halloween together — Anderson posted a picture of himself dressed as a member of Daft Punk, alongside Mariah, who was sporting her Hollywood Walk of Fame star.
Mariah has 13-year-old twins, son Moroccan and daughter Monroe, from her previous marriage to actor and musician Nick Cannon. She was last in a long-term relationship with dancer Bryan Tanaka, but the couple split last year. In August, Mariah experienced a double loss when her mother and sister passed away on the same day. Anderson filed for divorce from his wife, Jae Lin, in January after more than ten years of marriage. The ex-couple has two sons, Soul and Shine. Recently, Anderson made his directorial debut with the film K-Pops!, which he co-starred in alongside his eldest son.
