Selena showed off a close-up of her hand and the engagement ring, featuring an impressive oval-shaped diamond set in a band adorned with smaller sparkling stones. Benny gave her the luxurious ring as a symbol of their engagement. She also posed with a smile.
In another photo, Gomez and Blanco are seen gently embracing on the bedroom floor, with the actress smiling, eyes closed, and showing off the ring, while her fiancé lovingly kissed her on the forehead. In yet another shot, the star of A Rainy Day in New York is sitting on a blanket in her yard during a picnic, gazing at her engagement ring with a radiant smile. “Now it begins forever…” Selena wrote simply. Benny was one of the first to react to the post, commenting, “Hey, wait… this is my wife.”
The couple has known each other for over ten years, having remained friends and worked together on music during that time. Benny produced some of Selena’s biggest hits, including the 2021 song I Can’t Get Enough and the 2015 track Same Old Love. He also worked with Selena’s ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber.
Their romantic relationship began in June of last year. For a long time, they kept it a secret, with Selena confirming the romance only in December. Benny admitted that it was Selena who made the first move.
“It was crazy. We were just talking, and then she said, ‘Do you want to have dinner with me?’ And I went to dinner, having no idea what was going on. No, I wasn’t nervous because we’ve been friends for so many years. We’ve been friends for 10, maybe 15 years,” said Benny.
The showman explained that he thought it was just a friendly get-together and didn’t realize it was a date. They had a glass of wine before Selena made things clear. “She said, ‘I would have worn something else for this date.’ I was like, ‘Wait, what? We’re on a date?’ She left early because she had to go somewhere the next day, and then we met a couple of days later, and I thought, ‘Hey, I think she likes me.’ Then I just kissed her, and the rest is personal history,” Blanco added during a Twitch stream with Kai Senate.
Selena, a Golden Globe nominee for Emilia Perez, revealed that Benny is the only man with whom she feels completely safe. She confessed that she envisions a future with him.
