The family of legendary trumpet player Quincy Jones has shared the sad news of his passing. The musician died at his home in the prestigious Bel-Air neighborhood of California at the age of 91 from natural causes.

“Tonight, with hearts full of determination but broken with grief, we must share the news of the passing of our father and brother, Quincy Jones. While this is an incredible loss to our family, we celebrate the beautiful life he lived and know that there will never be another like him. He was truly one of a kind, and we will miss him deeply. We find comfort and immense pride in knowing that the love and joy that were at the core of his being were shared with the world through everything he created. Through his music and boundless love, Quincy Jones’s heart will continue to beat forever,” read the official statement from his family.

During his career, Quincy Jones won 28 Grammy Awards. The musician worked with legendary artists such as Frank Sinatra, Michael Jackson, Lionel Richie, and Aretha Franklin. He was the producer behind Michael Jackson’s iconic album *Thriller*, which went on to win eight Grammy Awards.

Quincy Jones is survived by seven children — Rashida Jones, Kidada Jones, Kenya Kinski-Jones, Quincy Jones III, Jolie Jones Levin, Martina Jones, and Rachel Jones — as well as three grandchildren.
